Switzler Hall

Switzler Hall was named to the National Register of Historic Places as one of the 18 building within the Francis Quadrangle Historic District, which was placed on the Register on Sept. 13, 1973.

It was named to Columbia’s Historic Preservation Commission’s Notable Properties List in 2003

Switzler Hall was named for William F. Switzler, “Dean of Missouri Journalists,” editor of the Missouri Statesman. The name was retained after the School of Journalism moved to another building, according to the National Register nomination form.
