CoMo Preservation meeting 7 p.m. Nov 29

Columbia’s newest historic preservation organization, CoMo Preservation, will meet at 7 p.m. on Nov. 29 in the Columbia Public Library.

The meeting will feature a show-and-tell session. The meeting is open to the public and those attending are asked to bring a photo to the meeting that says, “This is Columbia!” The photos will be used on the group’s forthcoming website. People are also encouraged to email photos to comopreservation@gmail.com.

This is an opportunity to share what Columbia means to you and why we should save its historic buildings.

The meeting will include reports from our three working teams, advocacy, outreach and sustainability. In addition, the group will be choosing its mission statement. A mission statement will keeps a group on track and lets others know what CoMo Preservation does and why they should join the group. The group will also consider taglines like this one: Preserving historic buildings today, enriching tomorrow.

Can’t come to the meeting? People are encouraged to send in photos and suggestions for a mission statement.
