Six local authors — including the founder of CoMoHistoricPlaces.com — will give short talk on their books starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2023, Skylark Bookshop at 22 S. Ninth St.

Can’t stand long presentations? You’re in luck! Each author will have five minutes to talk about his or her book with a five minute question and answer period.

The writer of this blog — yes, me! — will talk about my book, Historic Movie Theaters of Columbia. The book features every 28 movie theaters that ever showed a flickering image since the first one in 1897, but don’t worry — Thursday’s talk will focus on just one. Come and found out which one and why it was important!

Interested in learning more about Columbia’s local authors? The other authors, Aaron Fox, Joseph Marshall, Brian Katcher, Lisa Kent and Robert Hodgson, will also present for 10 minutes and copies of publications will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
